Celebrate the start of whale season at De Hoop Nature Reserve during the much-loved Wine, Whales & Music Weekend, taking place from 19 to 21 June 2026 at De Hoop Collection.
This annual winter celebration blends the natural beauty of De Hoop with regional wines, live music, inspiring talks and unforgettable whale sightings along the coastline.
Guests can look forward to two standout musical performances over the weekend, including the elegant Whale Time Serenade featuring strings and flute with dinner on Saturday evening, with performances by Irina Tsoniff, Ivo Ivanov, Vladimir Ivanov, Peta Ann Holdcroft and Malané Hofmeyr-Burger.
Friday evening brings Diamonds & Divas, a celebration of legendary voices and timeless hits starring Johan Liebenberg and Lucy Tops.
This year’s special guest speaker is Jenny Cullinan, presenting The Wonderful World of Wild Living Bees, alongside wine and cheese tastings throughout the weekend.
The experience concludes on Sunday with a visit to Koppie Alleen to welcome the Southern Right whales as they arrive along the coast for the season.
