Panerai’s pulse on the contemporary, the Italian luxury watchmaker has released a trio of new Luminor Due timepieces, each sporting “elegantly sophisticated” ‘sandwich’ dials finished in pastel hues — green, powdery pink, and light blue — to complete their “quintessentially” cosmopolitan looks. The application of pastel dials is also a first for the company, making these watches all the more special.
Set within a 38 mm polished steel case, replete with a closed back, the dials are filled with white Super-LumiNova, which illuminates green. A date window can be found at 3 o’clock, while a small seconds sub-dial is sited at 9 o’clock. A subtle “Panerai” inscription is also present.
The case is coupled with a metal bracelet, inspired by Panerai’s distinctive crown-protection device, where each link, of which the finishes alternates between polished and brushed, features te iconic semi-oval profile of the semi-lock system. According to the firm, the curved links lend the watch a refined finesse, making it the perfect addition as a dress watch.
Panerai’s P.900 calibre, an automatic movement comprising 171 components and 23 jewels, keeps time. Beating at 28 800 vph (4 Hz) self-winding unit offers a generous power reserve of three days. The movement is kept safe at water depths of up to 50 metres.
