Cape Town has established itself as a vibrant hub on the global art calendar, where contemporary culture unfolds across galleries, studios, historic buildings, and public spaces. At the centre of this momentum is the Investec Cape Town Art Fair (ICTAF), returning for its 13th edition from 20–22 February 2026 under the theme ‘Listen’ – an invitation to attentiveness, reflection, and exchange.
“Cape Town is a city shaped by many voices,” says Laura Vincenti, Director of ICTAF. “Through ‘Listen’, the fair becomes a space for encounter — across geographies, generations, and perspectives.”
This year, 126 exhibitors from 23 cities will showcase the work of 490 artists from 44 countries across five continents, including 35 first-time exhibitors. Leading South African galleries such as Stevenson, Goodman Gallery, Southern Guild, and WHATIFTHEWORLD anchor the fair, while international galleries from cities including Barcelona, Paris, Lagos, and Stockholm bring a global chorus of artistic voices.
ICTAF extends beyond the Cape Town International Convention Centre through its Unbound City public programme, with exhibitions at BlackBrick Hotel, Norval Foundation, and Zeitz MOCAA highlighting the dialogue between South African and international art, and tracing artistic and political histories. The official VIP Art Hub at The Gin Bar offers evening gatherings with DJs and limited-edition cocktails from 16–22 February, bringing the fair into the city’s streets and nightlife.
The fair reflects a growing global appetite for African perspectives. In 2025, ICTAF welcomed over 30,000 visitors and 125 international exhibitors from 58 countries, while the city’s cultural and tourism infrastructure continues to expand, with more than 30 galleries, 43 artist studios, and over 30 boutique and luxury hotels underway.
‘Listen’ positions ICTAF 2026 not just as a market, but as a civic and cultural gesture — an invitation to experience Cape Town as a city where contemporary art resonates across streets, institutions, and communities, and where global artistic voices converge.
