The Durbanville Wine Valley is flying its colours ahead of the Rugby World Cup in September with a special Rugby – braai, biltong and red wine gift box, making its way to you. Inside, are goodies to get you going too!
There are two bottles of Durbanville red wine that represent the best of our region’s winemaking talents and more. There are Versus Custom Socks with #drinkDurbanville design that set a stylish tone; the all-important biltong, handpicked from the acclaimed 2022 KFM Best Biltong butchery, Boer and Butcher; and Rhino Balls fire lighters made from rhino dung that are definite conversation starters – just like Durbanville wines.
Known for its exceptional Sauvignon Blanc, the Durbanville Wine Valley takes equal pride in its a diverse selection of cool climate reds, which consistently win awards. Most recently, these include the Trophy Wine Show’s Best Pinotage, the International Wine Challenge’s Trophy for Best South African Red, and Gold at the auspicious Concours Mondial Bruxelles. These awards underscore a commitment to excellence and dedication to crafting exceptional wines that captivate the senses.

The Diemersdal Shiraz 2022 has a complex nose with overtones of black and white pepper, pomegranate, cigar box, cloves, and spice. On the palate there are vibrant red fruit, blackcurrant, and dark chocolate flavours, under-pinned by well-integrated oak with a long spicy finish. This wine shows a good structure and will develop for years to come.
The Maastrich Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 is a full-bodied dry Cabernet Sauvignon, reflecting an intense ruby red colour. Flavours of blackcurrant, pencil shavings and spice are evident on the nose. These flavours follow through on the palate, to produce a complex wine with juicy tannins and a velvety finish. Will mature well over the next 10 years.
Both perfect for any celebration but shines when paired with biltong and braaivleis.
