This August, Cape Town’s beloved Cape Grace hotel brings a touch of London sophistication to the V&A Waterfront with an exclusive afternoon tea collaboration with the world-renowned Savoy Hotel. A celebration of two Fairmont icons, The Savoy Afternoon Tea at Cape Grace blends the charm of British tradition with distinctive South African flavour.
Hosted in the elegant setting of Heirloom, the hotel’s flagship fine dining restaurant, the limited-run experience showcases a bespoke menu curated by a trio of exceptional chefs from The Savoy. South African-born sous chef Liesl Booysen, pastry star John Almeida (of The Great British Bake Off: The Professionals), and Johannesburg native Dylan Martin will join the Cape Grace team to co-create this memorable culinary moment.

The menu is an elevated twist on the classic, featuring delicate sandwiches like coronation chicken and Franschhoek smoked trout, The Savoy’s signature raisin scones with clotted cream, and patisserie highlights such as the iconic strawberries and cream cake – a London favourite reimagined for Cape Town.
Afternoon tea will be served on select dates across August, with two daily sittings. Guests can expect impeccable service, spectacular views, and a globally inspired, locally rooted take on a cherished ritual.
