Backsberg Family Wines is inviting locals and visitors alike to experience the heart of South African living with its new culinary offering, Braai with Backsberg, launching on Saturday, 6 December at the estate’s scenic Franschhoek tasting room.
Taking place every Saturday throughout summer, this relaxed, alfresco experience celebrates the simple pleasures of good food, fine wine, and warm company, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Winelands. Guests are welcomed with a complimentary glass of Backsberg wine, before indulging in a buffet-style lunch featuring flame-grilled mains, seasonal sides, and a dessert of the day. The thoughtfully timed flow ensures a leisurely experience: arrivals from 12:30, mains served at 13:30, and dessert from 14:30. With vegan and vegetarian options included, there’s something to delight every palate, all priced at R350 per person.
Perfectly timed for the festive season, Braai with Backsberg captures the warmth, generosity, and authenticity of South African hospitality. It reimagines the traditional Winelands meal, offering a more approachable, abundant, and heartwarming dining experience without compromising on quality.
