Franschhoek Cap Classique & Champagne Festival

Pop, Fizz, Clink: Franschhoek’s Champagne Festival Is Back

Franschhoek’s much-loved Cap Classique & Champagne Festival returns this December, bringing bubbles, fashion, food and a serious summer mood to the Winelands.

If there’s one way to officially kick off summer in the Cape, it’s with a glass of something sparkling in hand, and the Franschhoek Cap Classique & Champagne Festival is back to make a very strong case for exactly that.

Returning to the Huguenot Monument on 5 and 6 December 2026, the festival, presented by Capitec and Franschhoek Wine Valley, is set to bring two days of bubbles, live music, good food and plenty of style to the Franschhoek Valley.

This year’s theme, ‘Step Into The Light’, feels particularly fitting. Expect a line-up of some of South Africa’s leading Cap Classique producers alongside a select selection of imported Champagnes, with guests able to taste, sip by the glass or settle on a bottle for the afternoon. For those skipping the alcohol, a curated selection of non-alcoholic alternatives will also make its debut.

Every ticket comes with a commemorative wine flute and ten tasting tokens, while gourmet food vendors will be on hand with dishes designed to keep pace with all those bubbles. On the entertainment front, Coda SA, Amy Jones and ShenFM will take to the stage, with DJ sets moving between Deep House, Amapiano and Afro-electronic sounds.

For those looking to take things up a notch, the new Crystal Lounge offers an exclusive space inspired by light and reflection. Think welcome cocktail, private lounge access and dedicated luxury restrooms, because sometimes a festival experience deserves a little extra polish.

And then there’s the fashion. The ever-popular Best Dressed Competition returns with this year’s theme, ‘Colours in Motion’, encouraging guests to embrace flowing fabrics, movement and reflective details. In other words, this is your official excuse to go all out.

Set against the mountains of Franschhoek, with a flute of fizz in hand and summer firmly on the agenda, the Franschhoek Cap Classique & Champagne Festival is shaping up to be one of those December dates worth putting in the diary early.
