From delicious food to captivating art and outdoor activities abound, punctuate your summer days with a cocktail from Tryn’s brand-new summer selection. Focused on simple, seasonal, and fresh flavours, well-loved classics like Martinis and Spritzes will still be on offer. But, if you want to entice your tastebuds with something diverse and exciting, pick from Tryn’s bevvy of bespoke beverages off the restaurant’s reinvented cocktail menu.
“A cocktail is a way to incorporate joie de vivre in your day. There are so many different flavours and options that you can pair with whatever kind of day you’re having or whatever mood you’re in. If you’ve had a rough day, a stiff, spirit-forward cocktail is the way to go. If you’re rounding off the day basking in the warmth of the summer sunset, opt for something fresh,” says Tryn’s beverage consultant, Odette.
If you’re planning to peruse one of the art exhibitions at Norval Foundation, or meander through the fragrant Steenberg Farm Gardens and marvel at the Eduardo Villa Sculptures, start your day with a Plumsteady – a contemporary take on the mimosa made with plum and thyme.
Cool down after exploring your choice of the many well-marked hike and bike trails carved out of the aromatic fynbos around Steenberg Farm and savour our summer classic – the Campari Spritz made with Steenberg Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc – with friends in the dappled sunlight on the Oak Terrace.
Alternatively, settle on Tryn’s Vineyard Terrace with a Hibiscus Sunset Margarita – another crisp and contemporary addition to the summer cocktail menu. With a cocktail in hand and good company all around, take in the vistas of Steenberg Farm’s vines and, on a clear day, views of the Helderberg and Hottentots-Holland mountain ranges in the distance, which present idyllic photo ops to preserve the moment in time.
“Cocktail culture is so inclusive. Flavour is so joyous, and not everyone’s palettes are inclined to straight spirits or wine. But, when it comes to cocktails, there is definitely something for everyone and anytime,” comments Odette.
All Tryn’s cocktails are carefully prepared by the restaurant bar to ensure the right balance of flavours and offer a re-education of authentic cocktail culture in its intended form.
Tryn’s Summer Special set menu for R525 per person, comprising of a three-course lunch or dinner – accompanied by the restaurant’s new and exclusive live music element on Sunday evenings from December, is the perfect way to conclude a fun-filled summer itinerary.
Tryn is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. To make a reservation, email info@tryn.co.za, book online, or call 021 713 7178.
