In collaboration with Investec, Wanderland Collective has crafted a bespoke collection of silk scarves, tote bags, and notebooks that spotlight the bold visual language of artist Boemo Diale.
Boemo, the 2024 Tomorrows/Today prize winner at the Investec Cape Town Art Fair, has seen a surge in recognition since receiving the prestigious award, which honours emerging and underrepresented artists. Investec’s continued support has further amplified her voice and expanded her reach to new audiences and collectors.
For this exclusive range, Boemo created original artworks that blend her signature motifs with fresh elements — including the iconic Investec zebra. The collection debuted at the 2025 Investec Cape Town Art Fair in the specially curated “Boemo Lounge,” an immersive space designed to bring visitors closer to her layered, thought-provoking work.
“This collaboration has been incredibly affirming,” Boemo shared. “It’s allowed the work to connect with more people, which has led to some exciting exchanges. Hearing how others interpret the art inspired me to evolve my ideas.”
On experimenting with new forms, she added, “I’ve stayed true to my core symbols, but the zebra added something playful and new. Collaborations like this are powerful — they open up conversations and connect different communities through shared meaning.”
About Boemo Diale
Boemo Diale’s multidisciplinary practice delves into personal and collective memory, drawing on her experiences as a mixed-race woman raised across Mafikeng, Rustenburg, and Johannesburg. Her work navigates tensions between urban and rural life, fragility and resilience — addressing themes of identity, home, gender, and mental health with vivid colour and deeply symbolic imagery.
Working across mediums, Boemo transforms her painted visions into three-dimensional ceramics, often using the humble pot as a vessel for deeper storytelling. Her pieces sit at the intersection of craft, fine art, and design, creating grounded and expansive work.
