With the release of a brand-new Hublot X Sang Bleu timepiece, we look at three exquisite Big Bang watches created through the partnership between the Swiss luxury watchmaker and Sang Bleu founder and tattoo artist Maxime Plescia-Büchi.
Big Bang Sang Bleu II Black Magic
Limited to 250 pieces, this collaborative timepiece reinterprets the familiar Big Bang with a daring design. It’s not your run-of-the-mill Big Bang (if ever there were such a thing, which there isn’t, of course). However, here, the popular timepiece takes Hublot’s ‘Art of Fusion’ design philosophy to new heights, fusing the well-known Hublot with the distinct design elements from Plescia-Büchi. Like the Spirit of Big Bang Sang Bleu All Black, this model’s case, which offers water resistance up to 100 metres, is crafted from satin-finished and polished black ceramic. However, the 45 mm item sports an engraved design. A Hublot staple, six H-shaped titanium screws are also present here. The matte black skeleton dial is distinctly Sang Bleu. Hublot’s HUB1240 Unico movement drives this piece. The automatic chronograph, replete with flyback functionality, has a generous power reserve of 72 hours.
Big Bang Sang Bleu II Green Ceramic
Billed as a daring, powerful, original and technical timepiece, this Big Bang Sang Bleu variation is differentiated from the Black Magic model with a satin-finished and polished green ceramic case and matte green skeleton dial, which displays the HUB1240 Unico movement. This model is even more collectable than its Black Magic brother in that only 200 pieces are available.
Big Bang Sang Bleu II Mexico
The most collectable watch of this trio, the Big Bang Sang Bleu II, is limited to only 50 units. Designed for the Mexican market, for this model, Hublot and Plescia-Büchi took inspiration from the ancestral art of tattooing to create a mystical watch. Like its stablemates, the Big Bang Sang Bleu II Mexico sports a 45 mm case, set apart from the former pieces on this list with a combination of matte black and vivid green motifs. Accents of the latter hue can also be found on the dial. The rubber strap is also green. This variant is equipped with the same movement found in the above pieces.
