Celebrating the Platinum Jubilee of the Patrouille de France (PAF), the precision aerobatics demonstration unit of the French Air and Space Force, Bell & Ross has released a 999-piece limited-edition BR 03-92 named for the PAF.
Evoking the hue of the Alpha Jet of the PAF, this BR 03-92 sports a vivid blue dial, replete with the elite display team’s insignia at 9 o’lock and the logo of its 70th anniversary. Sited at the 3 o’clock marker, the latter is subtly circled with the colours of the French flag. The Super-LumiNova-coated white numerals and indices enhance legibility. The tributes to the PAF’s rich history continue on the case back in the shape of the silhouettes of the five aircraft that have been flown by the PAF since its inception.
The 43 mm, micro-blasted, black ceramic case houses the Parisian luxury watchmaker’s familiar BR-CAL.302 movement, a self-winding mechanical unit offering a power reserve of approximately 40 hours. The water resistance is rated at 100 metres.
The BR 03-92 Patrouille de France 70th Anniversary is presented on a blue calfskin leather strap, replete with a matte-black pin buckle. A black synthetic canvas wrist band is included. The watch is priced at CHF 4 400, which, at the current Rand-Swiss Franc exchange rate, amounts to R91 277.82.
