The Speedmaster Moonwatch collection from OMEGA has been updated with a new generation of models.
OMEGA’s Speedmaster Moonwatch has been updated in a brand-new edition. The much-loved timepiece made an exciting comeback —this time with unique touches in design, as well as an anti-magnetic Co-Axial Master Chronometer movement.
THE INSPIRATION
For the exciting launch, OMEGA took inspiration from the fourth generation Moonwatch style, which Apollo 11 astronauts wore on the moon in 1969. The space-era tributes include a classic asymmetrical case, step dial, double bevel caseback, the famous dot over 90 (DON), and a dot diagonal to 70 on the anodised aluminium bezel ring. All of these details are important when it comes to really telling the story of Speedmaster.
THE UPDATES
One of the most significant updates is the arrival of the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861. This new movement ensures that the new timepiece is unaffected by even the most extreme magnetic fields. It also means that the watch is now certified as a Master Chronometer — the highest standard of precision, performance and magnetic resistance in the Swiss watch industry.
