Winemaker Jessica Saurwein has just released the much-anticipated Chi Riesling 2021.
“We have found that sometimes the challenging years make for wines with the most character and charm. The nerves were there in this vintage and we can see it in the wine – it has that tension and is racy like a racehorse, but generous and opulent in a way which begs you back to the glass! The wine has a slightly higher RS than the previous vintage, as there was a higher malic and the balance was achieved with 11,5 g/l sugar and the alcohol is 11,5%.” says Jessica.
This vintage boasts fragrant citrus blossom, green melon, yellow stone fruits, white pear, ginger, Pina colada, honeysuckle and finishes with a flinty, cool earth lick. Chi Riesling 2021 is immediately appealing and will gather complexity over a decade.
Enjoy Chi Riesling 2021 on its own as an aperitif or serve with light dishes like salads, cheeses or Eastern-style dishes with a hint of spice and sweetness.
