Poetry of Living has released the Juniper and Riley bed frames and headboards. The pieces form part of the newly launched furniture collection from Poetry. We chatted to the brand about their new offerings…
Congratulations on the launch of the Poetry of Living. Can you share the ‘why’ behind the new offering?
We have embarked on a journey of style and self-expression, one that brings you closer to the poetry of life. Being a fashion lead dresstination, it felt natural for us to flow out into a full lifestyle brand with a goal not only to dress our audience but to dress her home and living environment as well. We understand that a home is not just a physical space; it is an extension of your style and a reflection of your innermost aspirations.
What can we expect to see in terms of product and category newness?
The Poetry of Living Collection is more than just a range of furniture, decor, and textiles. It is an ode to the Art of Living, where every piece has been crafted to create a symphony of comfort, aesthetics, and individuality. This expression includes hard furnishings like tables, beds and cabinets as well as other large format soft upholstered furniture like sofas, armchairs and beds. We have also expanded our textiles throughout the home with bedding, towels and scatters, as well as in the kitchen with a wider crockery, bakeware and cutlery offering.

The furniture pieces are exquisite, talk to us about the different style personas you’ve curated for this launch
We have embraced three design aesthetics including the Modern Classic which seamlessly blends contemporary elements, bringing a touch of elegance to your space. The Romantic marries tradition with modernity evoking the grace of the past in a current light. The Gypset takes you on a global adventure, embracing artisanal craftsmanship and natural materials for a grounded, earthy setting.
Poetry prides itself on collaboration with artisans and creatives. What resonates with you most about these collaborations and how do you work with these creatives?
In a world filled with mass-produced items, we believe in the importance of craftsmanship, the beauty of high-quality natural materials, the passing on of heritage and generational wisdom, and in celebrating the makers and artisans who bring these visions to life. This commitment extends to supporting craftsmanship communities both locally and abroad. With artisans, there is an energetic value in their creativity. Hands carving and then pressing block prints, working lathes to carve large shapes, and moulding clay. Natural raw materials are grown and nurtured, carved and shaped by hand.
Time for some travel, where are you sourcing product from for Poetry Living, both locally and abroad?
Our collection is inspired by distant voyages and global traditions, yet it is designed for modern living. It is a tapestry woven from premium fabrics, solid woods, marble, and brass accents. From cotton jacquard bedding that envelops you in warmth to hand-quilted throws that cradle you in comfort. Our journey of design has taken us around the world seeking out artisans who share our commitment to quality and craftsmanship. We go where natural skill-sets take us be it Portugal, India, Cape Town or beyond. Our curiosity about craft specialists continuously drives us forward.
How do you think home design enhances joy and well-being?
Design is not just about decorating your home; it is about crafting your life. Curating pieces that support you in your journey to a life well lived. We believe that your living spaces should be more than just functional; they are an expression of your unique story, a canvas where your narrative unfolds. Colour, curves, juxtaposition, contrasting combinations and scale are all elements that can surprise and delight, soothe, amuse and facilitate expression.
