Cape Town, 28 August 2025 – This September, Pick n Pay Clothing celebrates Heritage Month with the launch of its second 2025 Futurewear range – a limited-edition collection created in collaboration with designer Alizwa Ngesipho Sibawu, founder of Alizwa Wakwa Sibawu.

Blending memory with modern craftsmanship, the collection pays tribute to South Africa’s shared heritage and the free spirit of African summers. Designed in a vibrant mustard-yellow print with authentically African motifs, the flowing, feminine silhouettes can be tied, layered, and mixed with ease – moving effortlessly from day to night.
“I wanted the designs to reflect the sun-soaked warmth and energy of the Transkei landscape,” says Sibawu, who draws inspiration from his Xhosa roots and early days watching his mother sew garments at home. His work merges cultural pride with contemporary design, creating pieces that are both grounded in tradition and distinctly modern.

Beyond fashion’s cultural significance, the industry plays an important economic role too, contributing R1 billion annually to South Africa’s economy. PnP Clothing’s Futurewear incubator programme, co-founded with Gavin Rajah, nurtures emerging talent by giving designers a national platform to transform creativity into wearable, commercial fashion.
“Futurewear was never meant to be a runway alone – it’s a working classroom and real shop floor,” says Rajah. “Alizwa brings a clear point of view that honours place and people while delivering clothes that live in the wardrobe, not a museum.”
