A Refreshed Classic, From Their Table to Yours
La Motte introduces the 2025 vintage of its ever-popular Sauvignon Blanc — now reimagined as La Famille Sauvignon Blanc. More than just a name change, this release marks a new chapter in the wine’s story, celebrating the sense of togetherness and family that has long defined its role both at the estate and in the homes of wine lovers across the country.
With a refreshed label and updated look, La Famille Sauvignon Blanc reflects La Motte’s ongoing programme of renewal. Yet, despite its new appearance, the wine retains all the trusted characteristics that have made it a favourite: crisp natural acidity, elegant texture, and a refreshing personality that shines both as a pre-dinner aperitif and a reliable companion at the table.
The 2025 vintage is crafted from grapes sourced across the Cape Winelands — from Franschhoek and Stellenbosch to the Cape South Coast — offering a balance of freshness, vibrancy, and layered fruit expression. Grapes were harvested between 18° and 23° Balling, cold-fermented at 14 °C, and blended with 4% Semillon to enhance complexity. Post-fermentation lees ageing contributes to the wine’s refined structure and medium-bodied mouthfeel.
In the glass, it presents a delicate straw hue with a green tinge, while aromas of granadilla and lime lead to a polished palate and a clean, mineral finish. Analytical balance in acidity and pH also point to promising maturation potential.
A versatile food partner, La Famille Sauvignon Blanc pairs beautifully with a variety of dishes — from grilled fish and luxurious crayfish to spicy Asian flavours, goat’s cheese, or Mediterranean-style vegetables. It’s a wine designed for both everyday enjoyment and celebratory occasions.
With La Famille Sauvignon Blanc 2025, La Motte reaffirms its dedication to timeless quality, thoughtful innovation, and the joy of shared experiences — one glass at a time.
