The latest Captain Cook’s 43 mm ceramic case houses the watch’s showpiece, the R808 movement. The automatic unit is equipped with an anti-magnetic and highly-reliable Nivachron hairspring, which, Rado says, has been fully tested in five postions. A generous power reserve of 80 hours are on offer.

But back to the case, a matt-finished monobloc item framed by a brushed plasma high-tech ceramic bezel. It’s as striking as the movement, as is, although grey, the dial, with its intricate construction. The bright rose gold-coloured index rings contrasts with the timepiece’s hues. Super-LumiNova has been applied to the hands for enhanced legibility in low-light conditions. Water resistance is rated at a generous 300 meters.
