H&M Atelier Channels a Refined Coastal Mood for SS26

Sun-washed, relaxed, and quietly elevated, the latest H&M Atelier collection leans into the poetry of coastal living. For SS26, the menswear line explores a softer, more fluid approach to dressing, where ease and intention exist in perfect balance. Think clean silhouettes, tactile fabrics, and a palette gently faded by long summer days.

Designed with movement and spontaneity in mind, the collection captures the spirit of an outdoor lifestyle without sacrificing refinement. “H&M Atelier SS26 reflects the freedom of an active life outdoors,” says Ana Hernández, Design Lead. “We were drawn to that sun-faded, lived-in quality, where technical performance meets natural, tactile materials. It feels polished, but never overworked.”

The offering unfolds like a considered travel wardrobe. Foundational pieces – pocket-front shirts, Henley tees, and sleeveless knits – are layered beneath softly structured blazers and lightweight windbreakers. Bottoms take on a relaxed, elongated silhouette, from cargo trousers and below-the-knee Bermuda shorts to pleated pants that skim the ankle. Proportions are deliberately generous, with undone shirting peeking out beneath outerwear for a look that feels both styled and effortless.

Fabrication plays with contrast while maintaining an overall softness. Rustic yarns, brushed cottons, and supple suede sit alongside technical materials, bringing a sense of function to the collection’s easy elegance. Each piece carries a subtly worn-in character, enhanced by a sun-bleached palette inspired by the south of France – dusty neutrals, washed denim, and hints of faded mint evoke the landscapes of Marseille and beyond.

The H&M Atelier SS26 collection lands at H&M Sandton City and online via Superbalist from 2 April 2026.
