Support Cape Mental Health at this fun springtime event.
The first-ever Hybrid Cape Town International Kite Festival will be from 2 to 31 October. The event, which will be held in support of Cape Mental Health, will comprise a mix of real-life and online activities. Whether you’re in Cape Town or elsewhere, you can enjoy some of the activities, which will include competitions, kite-making workshops, interviews with kiters around the world, and pop-up open-air kite flying spectacles.
The Cape Town International Kite Festival supports Cape Mental Health with a vision to show the world that #EveryoneDeservesToFly. Cape Mental Health is an organisation that is committed to challenging socially restrictive and discriminatory practices that affect the mental health of all people. The Cape Mental Health team provides community-based services for people with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities, including assessments, referrals, counselling and support, and special education care centres for children with special needs.
The event will take place from 2 to 31 October. Everyone (no matter where you are in the world) is invited to fly kites between these dates, and you can check out the virtual platform at www.capementalhealth.co.za/EveryoneDeservesToFly/
If you’re in the Cape Town area, you can view kites at pop-up fly events at Dolphin Beach on 10 October and at Zandvlei Nature Reserve on 23 October 2021.
