Nestled between the sparkling Atlantic and the iconic Lion’s Head in Bantry Bay, The President Hotel has long been a Cape Town landmark. Now, after a bold reimagining, it’s stepping into a new era—where design, sustainability, creativity, and wellness collide in the most effortlessly stylish way.
Living the Cape Town Life
The heart of the hotel’s transformation? Its outdoor spaces. Award-winning landscape designer Josephine Noyce has breathed new life into the pool and garden areas, blending lush greenery, curving forms, and natural textures with mood lighting and structured naturalism. The result: spaces that feel simultaneously generous, inviting, and deeply rooted in the city’s unique ecology.
“We weren’t trying to reinvent The President,” says Noyce. “We were reawakening it. The bones were already beautiful. We just added authentic materials, creative intersections, and flexible spaces.”
Custom marble, drought-tolerant plantings, and a seamless flow between bar, restaurant, and pool mean this is a space you’ll want to linger in—from sunrise cocktails to starlit dinners.

Luxury with Purpose
The President Hotel has also dialed up its sustainability game. A R15 million investment in renewable energy now powers up to 20% of the hotel’s energy needs, cutting roughly 145 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year—the equivalent of planting over 4,300 trees. As one of Africa’s first Green Key certified hotels, The President is proving that luxury and responsibility can go hand in hand.
“Our guests expect more than luxury—they expect leadership,” says CEO Jeremy Clayton. “This is about energy resilience while staying true to our ethos of responsible tourism.”

Art That Connects
Creativity pulses through the hotel’s corridors, too. The newly launched Cape Town Collection turns the second-floor hallway into a digital art gallery featuring local stars like Johannes Jacobus (Koos) Groenewald, Elana Wasson, Bjorn Kumpers, and Thuthukani Myeza.
“Our space now tells a story,” says Creative Curator Sarah Barnes. “We’re not just hosting guests, we’re hosting the city, showing all its faces.”
From evocative paintings to immersive installations, every piece invites visitors to feel, think, and experience Cape Town in fresh ways. And for those wanting a piece of the magic, the hotel’s soon-to-launch Souvenir Collection promises keepsakes that are all about story, not just style.

Cove Wellness Spa: Pause, Reset, Reconnect
Tucked between mountain mist and sea spray, the new Cove Wellness Spa offers a serene escape. With treatments crafted from locally sourced, natural ingredients, this is wellness elevated—where pampering meets true restoration.

The President Hotel isn’t just evolving—it’s setting the bar for what modern, conscious, and connected hospitality can be. Cape Town’s story starts here, and trust us, you’ll want to be part of it.
