Just 5 km from False Bay, Vergenoegd Löw is riding the sea breeze into a bold new chapter. After a full vineyard makeover, a top winemaking team, and eco-friendly farming revamp, the estate is now bottling a fresh coastal identity they’re calling Stellenbosch-by-the-Sea.

Thanks to cooling ocean winds, grapes ripen slower, building flavour, freshness, and finesse. “It’s not just terroir—it’s merroir,” says MD Corius Visser, who’s leading the charge alongside winemaker Vusi Dalicuba and mentor Abrie Beeslaar.

With Bordeaux-style reds (hello, Merlot, Cab Sauv, and Cab Franc) and mineral-rich Chardonnay, the wines reflect the farm’s ancient soils and maritime magic. And with regenerative farming—plus a crew of cows, chickens, geese, and their famous Indian Runner ducks—it’s all about working with nature. The latest vintages are full of life, shaped by soil, sea, and smart stewardship.
