PICHULIK LACUNA: SEASON ONE 2026

Lacuna | λακούνα | gap | pregnant pause | threshold

PICHULIK’s Season One 2026 collection, Lacuna, celebrates the transformative power of the pause — that fertile space between moments, where silence and potential coexist. Borrowing from the Latin lacuna, meaning “void” or “hollow,” the collection draws inspiration from nature’s tidal pools, tree hollows, and the rests in music that shape rhythm. These gaps, far from empty, are spaces that preserve life and possibility.

In a world dominated by chaos, polarization, and accelerated change, Lacuna offers a grounding vision, turning to mythology and symbolism as anchors. Enduring across empires and eras, these symbols remind us of resilience, hope, and humanity.

At the heart of the collection lies the pomegranate, featured in charms and Sephos earrings — a fruit that transcends cultures and centuries. From Persephone in Greek mythology to the robes of Hebrew priests, from the Qur’an to Byzantine mosaics, the pomegranate embodies abundance, renewal, and collective wisdom.

Circular motifs flow through the season, most strikingly in the polished brass conch of the Lacuna necklace and Conch belt. Byzantine-inspired square-cut gemstones, set mosaic-style in the Ravenna Choker and Kimiya Earrings, create a dialogue of round and square — a meeting of opposites, alchemical in its effect.

Season One also marks PICHULIK’s first foray into precious gemstone necklaces: Rosa beads in coral and aquamarine, or pearl and tiger’s eye, offering a bold contrast of tones and textures. The signature S-curve clasp invites personalisation, allowing charms of fish, pomegranate, and cosmos pendants to tell your story.

Extending the narrative into accessories, the Athena bag joins the PICHULIK pantheon following the success of the Mermaid bag. Rope-crocheted and lightweight, Athena is offered in three styles: over-the-shoulder clutch, adjustable crossbody, and bejewelled evening edition. A collaboration with South African mother-and-daughter label Shack Baby produced a Byzantine-inspired woven and embellished headpiece, underscoring PICHULIK’s commitment to craft.

Lacuna is about honouring the pause as a threshold,” says Katherine-Mary Pichulik, founder and creative director. “It reminds us that gaps are not emptiness, but invitations to reimagine and transform.

The Lacuna collection builds on PICHULIK’s signature sculptural rope brass, while expanding into gemstones and symbolic charms. The PICHULIK woman is invited to adorn with intention, channeling what Pichulik calls “Joan of Arc energy” — pieces that are contemporary relics, acting as ornament, armour, and amulet, grounding wearers in story and symbolism in an uncertain world.
