Art, Ocean & Tapas: A Multisensory Journey at Tintswalo Atlantic
Presented by SA Art Fair x Chefs Warehouse Tintswalo Atlantic
This August, Tintswalo Atlantic — the secluded five-star retreat nestled between fynbos and the crashing waves of the Atlantic — plays host to The Quiet Gift, a two-day experiential celebration of art, cuisine, and place. Presented by the SA Art Fair in partnership with the newly reimagined Chefs Warehouse Tintswalo Atlantic, the event offers a curated series of four intimate culinary-art affairs on 15 and 16 August 2025.

Under the thoughtful direction of curator Samantha Whittaker, The Quiet Gift explores legacy through quiet gestures — an ode to presence, care, and the intimate inheritance of emotion and meaning. In collaboration with visionary chef Liam Tomlin, Tintswalo Collection CEO Lisa Goosen, and Head Chef Cameron Smith, the weekend promises a sensorial unfolding like no other: immersive installations, artist-led conversations, bespoke cocktails, and world-class cuisine served in one of South Africa’s most iconic locations.
A Feast for the Senses
Chef Cameron Smith will lead guests through a refined, multi-course culinary experience showcasing Chefs Warehouse’s renowned global tapas style — where each dish is rooted in seasonal, sustainable, and locally sourced ingredients. Paired cocktails and curated wines reflect the themes and textures of the accompanying artworks, creating a seamless interplay between plate and palette.
Art installations will inhabit the restaurant, terrace, and selected guest suites, each space transformed into a poetic tribute to memory, mood, and meaning. Sculpture walks and interactive storytelling rooms offer moments of discovery throughout the boutique hotel, culminating in a dessert lounge installation that opens to sweeping ocean views and a final glass of bubbles.

The Art of Legacy
The group exhibition will present more than 20 acclaimed artists across disciplines — from sculpture and photography to AI-enhanced visual art. Highlights include:

In alignment with the event’s deeper ethos, the weekend will also showcase pieces by students from Lalela, the Hout Bay-based non-profit transforming lives through arts education. Lalela’s scarves and pyjamas, featuring student-designed artworks, will be available for purchase, with proceeds funding classrooms and creative mentorship.
An Intimate Invitation
Only four art-and-dining experiences will be held over the weekend — two lunches and two dinners — with limited seating available via Webtickets at R2100 per guest. Each event invites patrons to pause, reflect, and reconnect through shared meals, guided walkthroughs, and immersive storytelling.

Curator Samantha Whittaker sums up the experience: “The Quiet Gift is a moment to receive. It is legacy not in grandeur, but in the intimate, the lasting — what we pass down in care, in connection, and in art.”
In one of the world’s most breathtaking settings, The Quiet Gift offers a rare chance to engage with art and cuisine not simply as consumption, but as ceremony — a quiet gift passed from hand to hand, heart to heart.
