Get ready, South Africa, the sparkle, romance, and sheer joy of Pretty Woman: The Musical is making its South African debut in 2026! The beloved Broadway and West End hit brings one of Hollywood’s most iconic love stories to the stage, opening at Cape Town’s Artscape Opera House on 18 March, before moving to Johannesburg’s Montecasino Teatro on 24 April.

Set against the neon glow of the late ’80s, this heartwarming musical reimagines the 1990 film that made Julia Roberts and Richard Gere global icons. Brimming with laughter, glamour, and unforgettable songs by Grammy Award-winning artist Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance, the show features both familiar favourites, including Roy Orbison’s “Oh, Pretty Woman”, and a vibrant original score of pop-rock ballads that will have audiences swaying in their seats.

At its heart is the story of Vivian and Edward – two worlds colliding in a whirlwind of chance, charm, and second chances. The production captures everything fans love about the film: its wit, warmth, and unapologetic celebration of love in all its surprising forms.

Produced by Showtime Management in association with Crossroads Live North America, Pretty Woman: The Musical will feature an all-South African cast and crew, supported by an international creative team led by Tony Award®-winning director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell.

With dazzling costumes, high-energy ensemble numbers, and a story that’s impossible not to fall for, this is a feel-good spectacle you won’t want to miss.
