Open Studios Fish Hoek & Clovelly 2025

3 October 2025 - 5 October 2025
Open Studios Fish Hoek & Clovelly

For the very first time, artists in Fish Hoek and Clovelly are opening their doors to the public this October. The inaugural Open Studios Fish Hoek & Clovelly (OSFHC) takes place from 3–5 October 2025, bringing together 18 artists across 13 studio spaces on four specially curated routes.

Visitors can look forward to an inspiring weekend of creativity—meeting artists face to face, exploring the neighbourhood, and experiencing a wide range of work including painting, ceramics, sculpture, papermaking, textiles, illustration, and more.

“Fish Hoek and Clovelly may once have been thought of as sleepy suburbs, but that couldn’t be further from the truth today,” say the organisers. “There’s a vibrant, growing community of artists here, and we’re ready to showcase the incredible talent that calls this side of the peninsula home.”

The event is free to attend on Saturday and Sunday (4–5 October), with visitors encouraged to explore as many studios as they like across four routes: Clovelly, Fish Hoek Valley, Fish Hoek Mountainside and Risi View. For those wanting an exclusive first look, a Collectors & Enthusiasts Preview Day will take place on Friday 3 October (tickets R150 via Quicket), with proceeds supporting the Flamingo Project, a non-profit that funds breast cancer surgery for patients in need.

Among the participating names are some of South Africa’s most respected artists, including Carol Hofmeyr, founder of the Keiskamma Art Project; ceramicist Sandile Cele, known for his Zulu Goth style; Liz Vels, whose work is held in the Wits Art Museum; and award-winning multidisciplinary artist Marlise Keith, whose pieces feature in international collections. They’ll be joined by a dynamic mix of emerging and established creatives across painting, textiles, photography, and illustration—ensuring a rich and diverse showcase.

To help visitors navigate, a bespoke collectible route map, designed by artist Kyoko Kimura Morgan, will be available in print and online. The digital map, along with full details of participating artists, can be found on the Open Studios Fish Hoek & Clovelly 2025 page, with ongoing updates shared on Instagram @openstudiosfishhoekclovelly.

While walking is possible in Clovelly, organisers recommend Uber or private transport between routes. Some studios, located in private homes, may have limited wheelchair access—guests are encouraged to check ahead via DM.

Whether you’re a collector, an art enthusiast, or simply curious, this is a unique chance to discover the creative energy thriving in Fish Hoek and Clovelly.
