“Man of the Match”, a special themed evening at Burgundy Restaurant in Hermanus
“Man of the Match”, a special themed evening at Burgundy Restaurant in Hermanus, partnered with Kloovenburg and featuring the renowned singer Christof Berg – 15 December.
Burgundy Restaurant (Rudolf van der Berg) and Kloovenburg (Pieter du Toit) decided to host a special event to celebrate the extra holiday that was given to SA by our president after the 2023 World Cup Rugby win. The event is titled the “Man of the Match” evening, also because Pieter du Toit’s son, Pieter Steph du Toit, was named Man of the Match in the RWC final.
Rudolf says: “As a busy restaurant we don’t often get the time to do wine evenings, and as a chef, one needs to stimulate your creativity every once in a while. The small food tastings paired with the wines have been carefully created to give the patrons a good idea of what the wines are all about. It is also such a privilege to host the event with the Du Toit’s, who has supported me for many years from my days at Savannah Café right through to Burgundy. We are proud hosts of their olive oil on the tables at the restaurant. The cherry on top is to host the event with my brother Christof, who will be performing four of his greatest songs.”
The evening will consist of:
- 5 wines, paired with delicious snacks.
- A Mini concert by Christof Berg.
- A short talk on Kloovenburg wine farm.
Popular South African singer, Christof Berg, was born in the Autumn in 1986 and grew up on Witkraal, a salt- farm in the Freestate. He has performed in more than 40 countries worldwide up to date, gaining fans over all the world`s continents. He is currently back on the farm to work on a full-length album that will be released in 2024. The first single off the new album, “Wil jy sien hoe lyk die hemel,” was released on Friday November 10th. View the video here:
