When it comes to design trends, copper will always have a timeless charm. And this year, the material is proving particularly popular in the world of home décor thanks to its unique hue, versatility and stylish aesthetic.
Launched by husband-and-wife duo Rob and Shahnaz Wrensch, local company Copptique offers handmade copper furniture and décor items. Shahnaz has a penchant for rose gold furniture, while Rob loves creating furniture, so it made sense for the duo to join forces and launch a brand that embodies both of their passions. The couple has created a collection that brings the copper trend to life and blends a modern style with classic, quality materials.
Rob and Shahnaz decided to launch the Copptique brand while struggling to find unique pieces for their own home. They created a modern copper clothing rail and continued with various home décor items. Rob makes all the copper items from scratch and hand-finishes each and every piece.
Each item is handmade using real industrial copper pipes and fittings. All the copper is thoroughly cleaned before being crafted and treated with a clear lacquer to retain its natural colour. The classic copper tone of the material is both modern and elegant. The pieces bring warmth to any interior thanks to the rich shade of the metal and pair well with other elements like wood and marble for a look that is both textured and luxe.
The furniture collection from Copptique includes a side table; shoe rack; coat rail, clothing rail; kids’ clothing and shoe rail; drinks trolley; and mounted wall unit. The clothing rail was the brand’s very first creation and worked as an excellent storage display to showcase clothing. The base can be used as extra storage for baskets, shoes and other accessories. The rail is also in a mini version and is an excellent addition to a child’s bedroom.
As well as furniture, the range also includes unique home accessories like jewellery stands; lamps; plant stands; and candle holders. A range of wine and gin bottle racks and holders make a modern statement and serve as functional artworks for the lounge, kitchen or bar.
Rob and Shahnaz also offer bespoke furniture and fittings and take special requests for custom pieces.
