At the centre of it all is FYRE Dining, Olijvenkraal’s signature restaurant, where South African flavours meet open-fire theatre. Braai masters turn wood smoke into a sensory delight, grilling everything from fresh seafood to flame-kissed classics over glowing coals. Guests can choose the sleek indoor dining room, softened with curated interiors, or enjoy the alfresco terrace overlooking rolling vineyards, with peacocks wandering freely.
This summer, FYRE presents a refreshed seasonal menu inspired by South Africa’s beloved braai culture, paired with lighter, coastal touches. Highlights include Cape Malay mussels, seared tuna, grilled chicken, and playful “fyre bites” like oepsies (honey-glazed bacon with glacé cherries), braaibroodjies with boerenkaas and peach chutney, and the famed skilpadjies on grilled cornbread. Heartier dishes, including flame-grilled prawns, baby chicken, and braaiplankies for two, come with triple-cooked chips and classic pap en sous. Dessert offerings, from malva pudding cheesecake to melktert ice cream, provide the perfect indulgent finale.
Vegetarians and little diners aren’t left out, with comforting favourites like roasted boerpampoen with lentils or creamy macaroni and cheese. To complement the menu, FYRE now offers guided tastings of Olijvenkraal’s estate wines, including the award-winning White Blend, the new MCC Brut Rosé, and versatile Shiraz and Shiraz Rosé—perfect companions to the seasonal dishes.
Adding to the festive vibe, local live music fills the estate every Friday evening and Sunday afternoon, creating a relaxed, joyful summer atmosphere for friends and families alike.
