GALJOEN, Cape Town’s renowned seafood restaurant, has unveiled an enticing winter lunch menu at just R550 per person.

 

Nestled in the historic District Six, GALJOEN has swiftly become synonymous with South African coastal dining, spotlighting sustainably harvested seafood from the Cape shores. Drawing on their culinary finesse from the acclaimed Belly of the Beast, chef patrons Neil Swart and Anouchka Horn, alongside GALJOEN’s head chef Isca Stoltz, have curated a seasonal lunch menu that embraces the Cape of Storms season.

“At GALJOEN, we’re passionate about showcasing South African seafood diversity and promoting responsible dining,” explains Horn. “Our philosophy is clear: if it’s not ethically sourced from South African waters, it won’t feature on our menu,” adds Swart.

 

Under the leadership of head chef Stoltz, GALJOEN’s kitchen focuses on elevating the natural flavours of fresh sea produce. Stoltz draws on childhood memories from Mozambique, where seafood was bought fresh from local markets. Each GALJOEN dish highlights the seafood’s freshness, ensuring it remains the star.

“Our winter lunch menu mirrors the season and the bounty of the sea. Our emphasis in every dish is on the ingredients,” says Stoltz. “We aim to reveal their true essence.”

 

Partnering with top seafood suppliers committed to sustainable fishing practices, GALJOEN sources farmed mussels from Saldanha Bay and various fish from local fishermen, prioritizing quality and sustainability in every dish. The menu, adaptable based on local availability and Chef Stoltz’s inspiration, offers an unbounded culinary experience. GALJOEN’s multi-course winter lunch menu reflects its commitment to providing exceptional value without compromising authenticity and quality.

Available Thursdays to Saturdays at 12:30 pm until August 31, 2024, it invites diners to indulge in the essence of South African seafood.

For those seeking an evening experience, GALJOEN’s signature dinner menu, priced at R850 per person, is served Monday to Saturday at 6:45 pm.
